Recent Site Launches

I notice that I’ve been pretty bad about announcing new site launches and updates that I work on…in fact, it’s been over a year since my last one! (I sometimes make such quick announcements on Twitter.) So here’s a quick list of some of the sites I’ve been involved with — some with design, some development, and some with both:

2010 was busy; 2011 is starting off the same. That’s great for business, but it keeps me from things like updating this blog. Of course, keeping busy — and keeping clients happy — is more important.

Keeping this blog updated somewhat regularly isn’t an official resolution of mine, but I will try to update it more than once every six months.

One thing I’ll be using it for is for publishing tips (design, development, etc.). These are things I’ve researched and used on a project, and sometimes I need to go back and use the same thing for a later project. Publishing them here has the dual benefit of letting others find and use them (if they find it useful) as well as making it easier for me to find them later on.

Onward to 2011!

Two New Sites Launched

I launched a couple new sites in the past week:

Hofmann Joinery
Where the original Hofmann Joinery site was more focused on their custom furniture, the redesigned Hofmann Joinery site better reflects their current business model, which is high-end custom residential woodworking. I kept the design simple and elegant to put the focus on the photos of their beautiful work.

My Vintage Generation
My Vintage Generation was a very-quick-turnaround Wordpress site. It’s an eBay-powered store and blog, but with little budget it meant no fancy commercial eBay store apps. However, I was able to display products on the site even without a special application or plug-in simply by using eBay’s RSS feeds.

New Site (Finally) Launched

After being in business for almost a year, this new site was long overdue. Much like the carpenter who never has time to fix up his own house, I’ve (happily) been too busy with clients to update Kieran Chapman Design beyond my initial one-page site.

One addition to the site is this blog. I’ve had a personal blog since 2001, but this will be focused on work: current projects, design, usability, tools I use, useful sites, and the like. But I’ll still keep my Red Sox ramblings and Flickr photos on my personal site.
